Sorry after reading that and only catching parts of the episodes i’m as confused as you are with this. Who would even try and stop divorce from happening?

It is clear you are not from the New England area, as where the show is shot. (Bostonian here) The first airing of Aqua Teen Hunger Force was December 30, 2000. My friends and I used “outtie 5000” (how we spelled it) all the time for years in the early 90s. The phrase probably stopped being used in the later 90s. The phrase was definitely popular in the black community, not sure if that is why you think it originated so much later that it actually did. Taking into account michel’s race, it’s very fitting. The car thing appears to be reasonable, but the fact that Michel used it b/c of Aqua Teen Hunger force is definitely false. I googled it and see that you got that Aqua Teen info from some urban dictionary, which was likely not written by someone who actually grew up in an urban area …..Or else they wouldn’t have used a TV reference in the wrong decade. In fact ATHF was using it as a joke I guess so see who recognizes old school slang from about 10 years before ATHF was even made! …Apparently very few people know the phrase. Also I feel a true fan would know Michel’s character would never watch a show like ATHF.

The joke being made here is that “whatever” stop being used (not originated) two years ago, in this case 2005 (season 7 is from 2007). So to further pester Suki he says “outie 5000” which stop being used (not originated) about 10 years ago, say 1997. This is basically him using slang from when he was younger, much worse than “whatever”. Cracks me up! I have to say this was one of my favorite jokes out of all 7 seasons.

I agree that both “The man that got away”, and the song lorelai and Luke dance to are two of the most romantic moments from Gilmore girls. I just watched the episode with “The man that got away” the other day, and instantly had to download it (not to mention im a big Judy Garland fan as well.)

Monopoly is definitely the most popular board game, there are so many versions of the game, Monopoly NYC etc. I’ve even seen on some tv show a game board made of jewels gold and other metals that was in the tens of thousands. Being greek though I’d have to say my favorite board game is easily backgammon. I know its typical but it’s like a russian saying his favorite game is chess. I thought though Risk would have placed pretty high in most popular board game but it’s just a very popular classic.

must say I completely agree with everything TimK wrote about women’s beauty. Me and my girlfriend (wife soon) we love watching GG, and I do not show how much the beauty of the main characters strikes me, though I’m sure she knows. And the thing about what’s exciting about a woman - completely agree!!!

Hi Tim! Hi people.
Well Tim, you send me an e-mail talking about how the forum Four Fat Chicks is your Stars Hollow (you were right, I got it.) and how you would like to have something like that about Gilmore Girls, so here I am to try to do it with you. My name is Thalita, I’m 21 and I’m from Brazil. I discovered GG a little time ago, in the end of last year I broke my right foot and as I was home all the day I watched TV all the time. This was when I first really watched Gilmore Girls and I loved the show, I had first watched one episode of the Brazilian version and it wasn’t good because of the dubbing. So I got all the DVDs and started watching from the first season. I am currently watching season 6, and I’m really sorry that there are just seven seasons, I’m almost finishing it, and I will miss it so much. All these characters are now like friends for me, real friends. I can say that I had moments when I wasn’t feeling good about something in my life and just watching GG makes me get better, it’s almost the same as having a good talk with a friend; you laugh, you get anxious, you get emotional, you get mad… You may think I’m crazy, but sometimes I’m watching it and really get into the story, I actually shout to them, like “no, don’t do this”, or “come on, say you are sorry” and crazy things like that. After all I would like to have a place to talk about GG, to remember the great episodes and laugh again. Gilmore Girls made a difference in my life, I’m glad to have broken my foot so I could find out about this great show. I hope to make some good Gilmore Girls’ friends here! It’s all for today and I’m sorry for my English… it’s not that good yet.

Hey, Dan. Nice to meet you. That’s some story. So now I imagine you’re getting caught up with all the episodes. Watching the reruns on ABC-Family? Some of those early episodes are excellent. And you’ll probably discover that watching the season-1 and season-2 episodes helps the season-3 episodes make more sense.
