Episode 109

Chilton is holding a formal dance—Rory’s first, if she decides to go. Which she does, of course, once Dean agrees to go with her. Lorelai makes her a lovely dress, Emily comes over to bombard Rory with photos and hassle her date, and the happy couple drives off to the dance where excitement awaits.

After almost getting a date with Tristan, Paris instead shows up with her cousin who hits on Rory. Tristan picks a fight with Dean (who is nice enough to refuse to wipe the floor with him), and the happy couple takes off for Stars Hollow and a little coffee.

Unfortunately, they make a pit stop at Miss Patty’s empty dance studio and read a little Dorothy Parker, which surprisingly puts them to sleep despite the caffeine. Miss Patty’s Yoga class wakes them up in the morning, sending Rory running home to her mother and grandmother fighting over how she’s going to turn out just like Lorelai after spending the night with a boy.
