&lt;p&gt;BTW, a snood is also the flap of skin that hangs over the turkey&amp;#8217;s beak. (That&amp;#8217;s the &amp;#8220;snood&amp;#8221; I was thinking of.)&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Snood</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;A snood is a type of hairnet worn by women since medieval times (I have them in every color so this prompted my first response&amp;#8230; it is a question I answer  quite often.) They became popular again in America in the 1930&amp;#8217;s and 40&amp;#8217;s, worn at the back of the head with a hat on top.&lt;br /&gt;
Snoods can be made of different fabrics, but they are usually in a crisscross design and you can usually see the hair.&lt;br /&gt;
I believe Sookie wears one at the Dance Marathon, though you can hardly see it. I am sure some other women are wearing them in that episode, or the one where Rory throws the WWII era party in season six.&lt;/p&gt;
