Episode 720

With graduation looming, Rory is anxiety-ridden over her future, so Lorelai tries to cheer her up with a day of eating and shopping. Lorelai notices happily that Luke is once again wearing the baseball cap she gave him, and invites him to join her and Rory for karaoke night at a local bar. After a few drinks, Lorelai takes the stage to sing a heartfelt number which is obviously directed at Luke. Logan returns from a business trip to California and comes to see Lorelai to discuss his future with Rory.

BABETTE: It's for my throat. Gives it a rougher quality, a husky sound, sort of like Debbie Harry meets Ethel Merman.
LORELAI: Jackson Pollock... He struggled before he succeeded, and I bet if you asked him now, he would tell you he was glad for that.
ZACK: Just wait. When we're in Philly and D.C., we're going to be opening for Tokyo Police Club.
RORY: Mark Twain had to work as a steamboat pilot on the Mississippi before he became a successful writer...
MISS PATTY AND BABETTE: Never know how much I love you. Never know how much I care....
MISS PATTY AND BABETTE: So long. Farewell. Auf wiedersehen. Goodbye. Goodbye!
LANE: Three choruses of "Nappy Nappy Time Time" and 20 minutes of rhythmic shooshing, and they both konked out.
BABETTE: What about Wierd Al?
MISS PATTY AND BABETTE: When other friendships have been forgot, ours will still be hot!
