Not Capricorn

No way…I think she’s an Aries (maybe a Pisces). I think Aries is MUCH MORE stubborn than Capricorn. Plus, she’s too emotional. Capricorns are notorious for being “unemotional”. I think that she’s an Aries though. Rory is a libra and she is quite the opposite of Lorelai. The show is really good at showing how Lorelai’s strengths are Rory’s weaknesses and vice versa. Not to mention, how Lorelai never finishes what she starts which is one of the red flags for spotting an Aries

I don’t know her zodiac sign but I’m guessing she’s a capricorn, that is the most stubborn zodiac sign I ever met . Some of the stuff used on the show were from :Flowers for mothers
Romantic Moments

I agree that both “The man that got away”, and the song lorelai and Luke dance to are two of the most romantic moments from Gilmore girls. I just watched the episode with “The man that got away” the other day, and instantly had to download it (not to mention im a big Judy Garland fan as well.)

True feelings to Lorelai Gilmore

Hi,
must say I completely agree with everything TimK wrote about women’s beauty. Me and my girlfriend (wife soon) we love watching GG, and I do not show how much the beauty of the main characters strikes me, though I’m sure she knows. And the thing about what’s exciting about a woman - completely agree!!!

Great site and great article too! Thanks a lot

I believe Lorelai wore

I believe Lorelai wore glasses in the episode where Dean went to Friday night dinner at Richard and Emily’s. But, I might be wrong.

Does Lorelai wear glasses?

Now that I think of it, I haven’t seen this cliché in a long time in any movies or TV shows. Maybe that’s a good sign.

And when you mentioned Gilmore Girls and glasses, what I thought of was the one episode of GG in which Lorelai wore glasses. (I’ve got to make a note of which episode that is, because I keep forgetting which one it is.) She was wearing narrow, dark frames and a red, patterned sweater vest. I thought that really looked good, actually.

It’s a myth that glasses detract from beauty. Rather, they’re like an accessory. They can enhance beauty, if you choose them to do so.

Parts are funny

Yeah, parts are certainly funny. I also like the first part, until they get to “Is it funny? Or is it just fast?” And it’s funnier now than it was when I first saw it on TV.

That makes me want to read it even more. I was almost afraid it was going to be some academic tome. But it sounds like you’re enjoying it.

Kinda funny

I thought parts of the Gilmore Parody were funny. The end comment was especially funny: “nine-two in the ratings, but that’s #1 for the WB.” Ha.

What gets my ire...

Hi, Dani. I think what gets my ire is the suggestion that April was “just” a plot device and therefore that she ruined what was otherwise a good story. As you know, in the writing process, all plot elements start off as plot devices. But a good writer will allow only those that actually fit in with the story to actually make it into the story. And my point was that April does fit into the story, not only because she became a fully developed character, but because she invoked important changes in the other characters.

When you say “fiction needs more than ’it could happen,’” what more do you think it needs?
