Romantic Moments

I agree that both “The man that got away”, and the song lorelai and Luke dance to are two of the most romantic moments from Gilmore girls. I just watched the episode with “The man that got away” the other day, and instantly had to download it (not to mention im a big Judy Garland fan as well.)

I don’t actually know that this is for real. I’m still waiting to hear, and several other people are checking into it, too. It’s a great story either way. I am so on the edge of my seat.

…wish I’d had these when I was pregnant. Now I want stuff that says, “I Don’t Want to Know the Sex of Your Baby”. But the MOST romantic moment...

Ooh! Yes, April, that is definitely in competition for the most romantic moment. The song they were waltzing to is “Reflecting Light” by Sam Phillips.

But my favorite romantic moment of that episode was when Luke asks Lorelai out at the end, and Lorelai says yes, and then she turns around with an expression on her face that screams, “Did he just ask me out on a date?!”

Part of my problem is that there are so many great moments, I have trouble choosing my favorite. However, my favorite romantic Gilmore Girls moment is probably still the “Thousand Yellow Daisies” at the end of the first season.

when luke and lorelai danced together at liz and t.j.’s wedding, the song that luke and lorelai danced to is in strict competition for the most romantic moment…anyone agree?

Thanks for the kind words. I guess there aren’t too many women on TV who start their own business. Although Old Christine owns her own business, even though it’s a franchise. You might like the movie Chocolat, which I wrote about here. Now that I think of it, there’s not so much on TV about anyone starting his own business, man or woman.

I occasionally write more about my own experiences on my blog at JTimothyKing.com/blog. But for real inspiration, I love Pam Slim’s blog Escape From Cubicle Nation.

I can’t believe I never thought of the turtle. I’ll have to look into that a little, find the episode where we actually get to see Lorelai’s turtle key safe. Amazon has listed an inexpensive, cast-iron Turtle Key Hider, sold by NetGift, but I seem to recall Lorelai’s being nicer. Cow creamers are a little easier. But again, I can’t seem to remember what Lorelai’s looks like.

Your story really touched me, thanks for sharing. I also started my own business, & I also refer to Lorelai’s two year quote. In fact when I’m having a rough day I pull out those episodes & watch them again. There isn’t a lot on tv that shows a woman starting her own business, trying to make it in a man’s world yes, starting her own business, not so much. as for the kids, some of our favorite christmas’ as children were when we all just made each other presents. For Gilmore christmas I would like a turtle in which to keep my keys & a cow creamer.

Thanks for the great tip, Tim. I loved that shirt when I first saw it, even though I can’t knit to save my life. I just thought it was adorable and goes perfectly with my very random t-shirt collection. My knit shirt is now in the mail.
