Still watching Gilmore Girls
and still loving it

Clearly her dropping out at 16 is well covered territory, but do we ever know where she went to school before leaving? It would seem that she and christopher would have gone to Chilton, right? It would be logical to assume Richard and Emily would have sent her to private school just like they want for Rory, and it is clear in more than one episode that Emily has standing relationships at Chilton that must have been cultivated prior to Rory attending. What is weird about this is the fact that Lorelei seems fairly unfamiliar with both the school and the culture of the school. Normally Lorelei has memories of the obligations Emily now asks of Rory. At Rory’s deb ball we hear all about when Lorelei was a deb, when Rory sits for a portrait we hear about Lorelei’s experience. It would seem logical that part of the “stifling world” Lorelei fled would include an institution like Chilton. To my knowledge no references are ever made about Lorelei attending Chilton, but I also don’t remember a mention of ANY high school. This seems like a glaring omission particularly when Christopher is involved since many of their moments revolve around past memories. Can anyone help with this! Thanks!
