Episode 101
Introducing Lorelai Gilmore, her daughter Rory, and the rest of Stars Hollow…
Lorelai and Sookie talk about their dream, to run their own inn.
Rory is accepted into the Chilton School, but Lorelai can’t come up with the enrollment fee. As a last resort, secretly, she asks her estranged parents, Richard and Emily, to loan her the money. They do, but Emily wants to be more involved in the lives of the younger Gilmores. So she has one condition: Lorelai and Rory must come to dinner every Friday night.
Rory meanwhile meets the new boy, Dean, at Stars Hollow High and mysteriously no longer thinks it’s a good idea to go to Chilton.

- LORELAI: Aw, you're not gonna give me the Mommy Dearest treatment forever, are you?
- RORY: Chicago. Windy. Oprah.
- MRS. TRAISTER: For those of you who have not finished the final chapters of Huckleberry Finn you may use this time to do so.
- RORY: God! RuPaul doesn't need this much makeup!

- My Little Corner of the World
- RORY: Oh, that is so Nick at Night.
- LANE: Oh, well, there's no way Mark Twain could compete with that.
- DEAN: So how are you liking Moby Dick?
- RORY: So, do we go in, or do we just stand here reenacting "The Little Match Girl"?
- LORELAI: Sookie, there are several chapters from a Stephen King novel I'd reenact before I'd resort to that option.
- There She Goes
- VIMAX FORMULA: Vimax Pills
- LORELAI: What's with the muumuu?
- Where the Colors Don't Go
- LORELAI: You're a regular Jack Kerouac.

SOOKIE: Protestants love oatmeal. [Is this anything? What does it allude to? -TimK]
Not positive, but I’m pretty sure it’s talking about Quaker’s oatmeal…Quakers were Protestants…
