Episode 121

Luke is spending more time fixing Lorelai’s house than he is with Rachel. And Rachel notices. So Lorelai has to have a little talk with him.

Rory finds the Dean box that Lorelai had hid in the closet, the box of things that reminded her of Dean. And she decides to talk to Dean, but she can’t find the words and keeps chickening out. Until she explodes in a fit of emotion during a town meeting, over an issue having to do with the town troubadour. The troubadour’s plight becomes a metaphor for hers. And Dean figures out that something is going on with her. And he responds.

Finally, Max and Lorelai get into a fight when he comes to pick her up for their date and finds Luke at her house. He can only think of one way out. He proposes marriage, to a dumbfounded Lorelai. She says, no, a proposal should be magic. There should be a thousand daisies. So he buys her a thousand daisies…
