This is another of those crazy clothing items Lorelai has been known to wear. It even got a few lines of dialogue. This was in Episode 406, “An Affair to Remember,” where Richard and Jason go into partnership together, and Emily hires Lorelai and Sookie to cater the launch party. And when Jason reveals that he’s planning a trip for the clients to Atlantic City, Emily has to cancel the party. She must inform Lorelai.
So she knocks on Lorelai’s door, and Lorelai answers it wearing a pair of sweatpants with the word “Juicy” emblazoned across the backside.
EMILY: Were you asleep?
LORELAI: Uh, no.
EMILY: Then why are you in your pajamas?
LORELAI: These aren’t pajamas.
EMILY: You wear that in public?
LORELAI: Hi, Mom. Would you like to come in?
EMILY: You have the word “juicy” on your rear end.
LORELAI: Uh, well, if I had known you were coming over, I would have changed.
EMILY: Into what? A brassiere with the word “tasty” on it?
That’s classic Emily.
Well, I don’t know where to get a brassiere with the word “tasty” on it. But I’ve discovered where to get a pair of sweatpants with the word “Juicy” on it.
Of course, the original “Juicy” pants are the designer trackpants by Juicy Couture. I don’t know where to get the exact ones that Lorelai is wearing… In fact, I don’t even know if she’s wearing authentic Juicy Couture trackpants. Their stuff just looks so much more… comfortable… on their catalog models. Besides which, I don’t know how Lorelai could have afforded a genuine designer Juicy Couture tracksuit, no matter how comfortable they are. (Although you can get other designs at slightly better prices from Juicy Couture’s own website.)
However, there’s an alternative, if you don’t mind taking matters into your own hands.
It’s from CustomizedGirl.com. Customized Girl lets you put your own words onto a variety of tops, bottoms, and other clothing. They also have a selection of clip art you can use in your custom designs.
Using Customized Girl’s interactive website, you can make sweatpants that are very much like Lorelai’s. I haven’t personally seen them. But judging from the pictures, the pants Customized Girl uses have no stripes down the sides. The fonts available at Customized Girl are also a little different from the lettering the WB costume designers must have used to make Lorelai’s pants.
I’ve created a couple of custom designs at Customized Girl, so you can see the closest matches I could find. Here’s how you find them:

One more thing: You can get 10% off CustomizedGirl.com with the coupon code CJ05. Type this coupon code in where it says “Promotional code” when you check out.
If you try out Customized Girl, I’d love to hear about your experiences.
