What is a “snood”?

I dunno. Not the snood I’m thinking of, anyhow. It something turkeys have.

A snood is a type of hairnet worn by women since medieval times (I have them in every color so this prompted my first response… it is a question I answer quite often.) They became popular again in America in the 1930’s and 40’s, worn at the back of the head with a hat on top.
Snoods can be made of different fabrics, but they are usually in a crisscross design and you can usually see the hair.
I believe Sookie wears one at the Dance Marathon, though you can hardly see it. I am sure some other women are wearing them in that episode, or the one where Rory throws the WWII era party in season six.
Good job, Rhiannon. I’ll give it to you, because you’re absolutely right. Cheers! And welcome to trivia.
BTW, a snood is also the flap of skin that hangs over the turkey’s beak. (That’s the “snood” I was thinking of.)
So, you can start another “#6” thread with a new question for the rest of us. (Or I’ll do it for you if you don’t want.)
