In the episode “Face-Off,” in reference to Michael Moore.

Lorelai is gently berating Jess for failing to call Rory. He tells her that he was at work and didn’t have time even to call Rory to tell her he would be working late.

Lorelai responds, “Really? You don’t get breaks? Do you get food, water? Should I get Michael Moore on the phone?”

Michael Moore is a humanitarian, social commentator, political activist, and documentarian. He is well know for being outspoken about his beliefs, especially in opposition of things with which he does not agree or which he does not find morally ethical. He is best known for his documentaries Bowling for Columbine and Fehrenheit 9/11
