LANE: Look, I don’t have much time. I’ve already used up my five minutes of phone time so this is totally illicit, but I have to talk to you. There’s a new Belle and Sebastian single coming out today.

RORY: I know.

LANE: I have to have it.

RORY: Okay, well -.

LANE: No, I mean I have to have it.

RORY: I don’t know if I have time to pick it up.

LANE: What? Rory, do you wanna hear how I used up my five minutes of phone time today? Talking to Amazon.com trying to get them to overnight it to me in a plain package with a return address referencing something Korean and religious.

RORY: They wouldn’t do it, huh?

LANE: I think they notified the government.

ZACK: Are they both down?

LANE: Yes! Three choruses of “Nappy Nappy Time Time” and 20 minutes of rhythmic shooshing, and they both konked out.

“Nappy Nappy Time Time” is probably Lane’s own variation of Ren and Stimpy’s “Happy Happy Joy Joy” song. The lyrics to that song are, simply:

LANE: Well was it a good color at least?

RORY: It had sparkles in it.

LANE: Wow.

RORY: And it smelled like bubble gum when it dried.

LANE: Oh, well, there’s no way Mark Twain could compete with that.

Earlier in the episode, the other students at Stars Hollow High were Rory started writing her essay on The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. They were too busy doing their nails to work on the assignment.

Later, Rory recounts the scene to Lane.
