This is a book I’ve been looking forward to, because it promises to go deep into the story. It’s a collection of essays about Gilmore Girls and American culture. (And now that it’s finally available, I have to wait, because I don’t have the cash-flow right now to get a copy. Long story. Another time.)
Here’s a first look, in the form of a review of Coffee at Luke’s.
You can get Coffee at Luke’s at Amazon.

According to Brenna, the seller told her that the Jeep auction was ended because it was sold to a buyer in a private deal. Cool.

Today, the eBay auction of Lorelai’s Jeep disappeared from eBay. The last time I checked there were no bids on it yet, but that doesn’t surprise me. I didn’t expect a bid until sometime next week.
But why did the auction disappear? Maybe eBay had a problem with it. Maybe the owners changed their minds. There have been no communications to explain what’s happening.
I’ll post more when I learn more.

Yes, Lorelai’s actual Jeep is being offered on eBay. This is claimed to be one of the actual jeeps used in the filming of Gilmore Girls. Click to continue »
Daisy really wanted one of these and asked about it in the gilmore_girls LiveJournal community. And Siobhán and Angela echoed the feeling. It is a nice necklace. It’s the three-chain gold necklace that Lorelai wore at her last Friday-night dinner, in the Gilmore Girls series finale, “Bon Voyage”.
So I did some research. And I found something that looks pretty close, a 14-karat Italian yellow gold 3-stranded link-chain necklace. I initially found it at Amazon, but thank God I didn’t stop there! By putting the time in and doing more research, I found it regularly priced at 57% less at JewelBasket. Click to continue »

Someone was searching for this yesterday and landed at this Gilmore Girls fan site. The song Grant-Lee Phillips was playing at the end of “Hay Bale Maze.”
The song Grant-Lee Phillips was playing in the hay bale maze at the end of the episode, the song is called “Raise the Spirit,” and it’s from his new album Strangelet. You can download the song from iTunes or get a copy of the CD from Amazon.

Miriam, a kind reader of this site, sent me an email. She asked, “Jackson’s ’I Don’t Want to Know the Sex of my Baby’ buttons. Do you know if they were real? If so, where can I get them?” Good question, Miriam. Click to continue »
This is another of those crazy clothing items Lorelai has been known to wear. It even got a few lines of dialogue. This was in Episode 406, “An Affair to Remember,” where Richard and Jason go into partnership together, and Emily hires Lorelai and Sookie to cater the launch party. And when Jason reveals that he’s planning a trip for the clients to Atlantic City, Emily has to cancel the party. She must inform Lorelai.
So she knocks on Lorelai’s door, and Lorelai answers it wearing a pair of sweatpants with the word “Juicy” emblazoned across the backside.
EMILY: Were you asleep?
LORELAI: Uh, no.
EMILY: Then why are you in your pajamas?
LORELAI: These aren’t pajamas.
EMILY: You wear that in public?
LORELAI: Hi, Mom. Would you like to come in?
EMILY: You have the word “juicy” on your rear end.
LORELAI: Uh, well, if I had known you were coming over, I would have changed.
EMILY: Into what? A brassiere with the word “tasty” on it?
That’s classic Emily.
Well, I don’t know where to get a brassiere with the word “tasty” on it. But I’ve discovered where to get a pair of sweatpants with the word “Juicy” on it. Click to continue »

“Give me a clue as to whether you’re kidding or not!” Lorelai was aghast.
For a moment there was no answer.
“I am not kidding,” Max said.

It was identified as one of the most romantic scenes ever on Gilmore Girls, at least by the readership of the GilmoreGirls.org forum. It’s at the end of Episode 516, “So… Good Talk.”
Lorelai is sitting alone on her couch, watching A Star is Born, missing Luke, a couple weeks after he told her, “I can’t be in this relationship. It’s too much.” Click to continue »
