I didn’t announce it on this blog, because I’m not ready to hold my breath yet. In the wake of Gilmore Girls being cancelled, Amy Sherman-Palladino (who originally created the show) said that she hopes to do a 2-hour TV movie with her version of the GG ending… “in a year or two.”
The thing is, a lot can happen in a year or two. Many fans were ecstatic about this movie. I’ll jump up from my seat in excitement as soon as they announce the production schedule… in a year or two.
Which leads me to the latest news. You may know Kristin, of the column “Watch with Kristin,” on E! Online. For example, she was the one who orchestrated the “Save One Show” campaign, which Gilmore Girls won, with Veronica Mars. But I’m not going to talk about that, because I don’t want to stir up bad blood.

E! Online has a poll to Save One Show. And Gilmore Girls is one of the options. Voting closes Apr. 6, and then check back Apr. 13 to find out if you helped save the show you love. So if you haven’t voted yet, go and vote before the poll closes.

Still no concrete news on whether there will be an eighth season. Lots of speculation, but no news. However, Michael Ausiello reports that the prospect is bleaker than ever, “Talks to bring the show back for an eighth season have stalled, and according to several sources, there’s little hope for a turnaround.”
Still, if this is the last season, at least Rory will get to meet Christiane Amanpour before it’s over. Rory’s hero will appear in the last episode this season.
