If you haven’t seen the “Gabmore Girls” parody on Mad TV, I’ve included it below. But first, a Mad TV parody of Heroes, with a Milo Ventimiglia look-alike (kinda). If you’ve never seen Heroes, this may not make much sense to you. If you have, you may find it funny. Click to continue »
Here’s a YouTube video of Carole King live, singing “Where You Lead,” which is the theme song to Gilmore Girls. Surprise! In the bridge, instead of “New York City,” she says, “If you want to live in Stars Hollow, baby.” Hee hee.
Carole King not only wrote “Where You Lead,” Gilmore Girls fans also know her as Sophie, the owner of Stars Hollow’s music store. Click to continue »
I think I’m finally figuring out what irks me about the latest Gilmore Girls episode, “It’s Just Like Riding a Bike.” Many people thought this episode was the best one in a long time. Unfortunately, I found it infuriatingly boring. But being the hard-core fan that I am, I still watched it a second time through. And by the third viewing, I was mocking it the same way Lorelai and Rory do bad movies. Gilmore Girls is not supposed to be a bad-movie experience. But I think I finally figured out why. Some people have mentioned that the hay bale maze in Episode 718 is a metaphor for Lorelai’s life. That Lorelai is lost, as it were, in the maze, and Luke has to find her and show her the way. But I don’t think Lorelai is really the one lost in the maze.
Rather, Logan is. And what’s more, Lorelai should understand what he’s up against, because Lorelai was there once herself. And the thing that Logan most needs now is something that Lorelai was lucky enough to find when she was where he is now. Click to continue »
In “Hay Bale Maze,” April says, “You know what they say: What happens in Roswell stays in Roswell.”
In response, Lorelai asks, “Hmm. Do they say that?”
Of course, me being me, I had to ask Google. And I found out that, no, “they” don’t say it… Unless maybe they say it in Roswell, and it stays in Roswell.
But even if “they” don’t say it, occasionally someone does. One such someone is Mr. Y (named such because the name “Mr. X” was already taken). He said this in an exclusive video interview on the 1957— er, 1967— er, 1947 UFO landing in Roswell, New Mexico. I don’t want to give away too many secrets. But the truth is, it wasn’t so much of a UFO as it was… an RV.
Seriously, though, I also found a “What happens in Roswell stays in Roswell” T-shirt in Panoche’s Utah Shadow store on eBay.

The Gilmore Girls cast and crew this week were filming Rory’s graduation from Yale. They were shooting at the USC campus, and several people blogged reports of the second day. I caught 3 particularly interesting ones, including a timelapse video. Click to continue »
I'll post later why I believe Luke and Lorelai can get together, even get married, this season. And what would need to happen to pull it off. [Edit: I've posted it here: How Luke and Lorelai can get back together.] Click to continue »
